Call Blocking

The first thing we are going to talk about is the call blocking. We will see what happens when we block a number for calling.

  • When we block a number using the inbuilt app provide by the android when the call reaches to our device, the device registers the number. Then search that number in the contact database; if it is found there, it checks for the name then check in the call blocking database that weather that number is present in that or not. If the number is present in the list, then the call automatically gets rejected.
  • When we block the call using the third-party apps, then when the calls come in, the device registers the number, checks for the contact database if found then collects the name for the contact. Checks for the blocked list if found the call gets rejected. If not, then the call is passed to the third-party app where the app check-in its database for the blocked contact if found, then the call gets rejected.
  • The last one is the call blocked by the service provider. When someone calls you, then a database in the service provider checks for that number verifies it’s detailing. Then the database checks for the number if it is blocked by the number which the number is trying to contact; if the number found in the data, the call gets dropped, and the caller receives a busy tone.
  • However, in the other two methods, you will get the notification, but in the last way, you will not get any notification.

  • When you block any number for SMS using your in-built device settings then when any SMS arrives in your device the device registers the message and then it checks in the database for the sender’s contact details, if found then it caches the sender name and then checks for the blocking database and if the number is found in that database, then the message is saved to the spam folder. You can access the message anytime.
  • When we block any number for SMS using the third-party apps then, when the SMS comes to the device registers the message and then it checks in the database for the sender’s contact details, if found then it caches the sender name and then checks for the blocking database and if the number is found in that database, then the message is saved to the spam folder else if it is not found then the third-party app checks the sender details in the database if the details matches then the message is saved in the spam folder of the blocking app. Still, you can access the SMS.
  • The last thing is the SMS Blocked by the service provider. If you block the SMS from a specific number from the service provider, then whenever you get any message, the service provider database filter that sender from the blocking list. If the sender’s number is found in that database, the SMS will not be delivered to you. You will get no notification for that message.
