I am trying to figure out where did space go and who takes storage and how much I started looking in the file manager and then I observe others in the folder then I am trying to figure out what is other in storage and the funny part is another folder take more storage than other apps. As we all know there is various android phone, and versions present in the market so there are multiple ways to solve this problem depending on your device, version, and features. So to solve this problem we don’t need any other application to be installed we are doing this with our android system itself. Eventually, the easiest way is the perfect way. Please kindly note that the following methods are based on my own Xiaomi device these can vary from device to device.

This is one of the biggest problems for Xiaomi devices in all the categories as we can see other storage uses a lot of space from the phone.

The other category on Xiaomi devices saves a lot of temporary files that we have to get rid of them manually let’s see how to do it there are a lot of different ways to free up space on the other category on Xiaomi devices.

Method 1:

The first thing we are going to do is we are gonna press the power button for 15 seconds until the phone turns off, and keep and hold down the power button until your phone turns off. Once you see the Xiaomi logo on the screen release the power button and wait until the phone is on just by doing that you will free up some space in the other category.

Method 2:

• Open your file manager application then let’s go ahead and tap on the little folder icon on the top and then let’s go ahead and tap on the MIUI folder then let’s go ahead and tap on backup and tap on all backup so we are going to see different backup on this folder lets go ahead and select all those backup long press on any of those folders then we will delete option at bottom of the page and need to delete this folder.

• Those folders were using a lot of space from our phone that’s because our phone was saving all the data from all the apps that our phone has right now.

• Just choose the app  that we want to backup that will free up a lot of space let me show you how to do it let’s go ahead.

Method 3:

Open the setting scroll down and tap on additional settings then scroll all the way down until you see backup and restore settings. Now, let’s go ahead and tap on a mobile device then let’s go ahead and tap on third-party apps and app data your phone was saving all data from all the apps that you are seeing so you just have to turn off. The third-party app and app data and just choose manually the app that you really need on your phone to do the backup in the future like files.

Now turn off setting and choose the app that you need the data in case you restart your phone factory reset your phone. You will keep those data but you don’t have to save the data from all the apps that’s not necessarily. They use a lot of space after you select all the app then let’s go and ahead and tap on backup wait until that process finishes after that your space will be free.

Method 4:

Open your security app scroll down until you see the deep clean option. Now scroll down and click on app data and tap on clean now and then select all the apps and click on delete selected data press ok that also will free up your data and create a lot of space on your phone including other categories.

Method 5:

Now in this method let me show you something else let’s see open your setting scroll down until you see the battery and tap on settings on the right corner on the top and then let’s go and tap on clear cache when the device is locked now tap on setting and just make sure you have five minutes so every time. When you are not using your phone, automatically deleting cache file so that temporary file that will help the other category to not save a lot of data and that’s what you need to do.
