Pokémon Sword and Shield is a role-playing video game. This game was officially released on the 15th of November 2019. Soon after finishing the development and release of Pokémon ultra sun and ultra moon is 2017, the developers at The Pokémon started to work with Pokémon sword and Pokémon Shield.

The Pokémon Company has released 18 versions in the Pokémon series till now and this Pokémon Sword and Shield is of the 18^th and latest version sofar. Tsunekazu Ishihara is the founder and president of The Pokémon Company. Besides being a video game designer, he is a director, producer, and businessman. Conversely, Satoshi Tajiri is the founder and president of Game Freak. He is also the inventor of Nintendo’s Pokémon franchise.

This is the latest video game that has been released by The Pokémon Company. The developers also said that any date issue for the next release may be distorted due to this pandemic COVID-19.

A Brief History

Nintendo, Game Freak, and Creatures together had established “The Pokémon Company” in 1998. The first video game is Pokémon Red and Green, released in 1996, got a very good response. Some features that exist in the previous games are absent from this version. Those features include Mega Evolution and Z-moves. Similarly, being absent in the previous versions Pokémon Gyms make a return directly to Sword and Shield from Pokémon  Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire which was released in 2014.

Similar to this, Camp mode is a new feature that allows the player to work together (interact) with their Pokémon. It also accords to cook a different type of curries, which provides bonuses for Pokémon.  The player character can be customized with the new customization options. The customizations include outerwear and other accessories. In addition to this, the player can access the PC outside the Pokémon Centres. But that is not possible inside Gyms.

Poke Jobs, a new mechanic that errands the Pokémon player’s in completing the requests that include gaining experience, assisting in cooking, is assisting in the construction or rare items.

Response and Reviews

Chris Taspell commented that the game had lacked substance and moreover the game did not reach the previous titles. Many gamers have also criticized that ‘This game has interesting new elements like Dynamaxing and streamlined battle encounters, but few of them like Pokédex is not up to the mark’. The game potential is comparatively high with actual utilization by developers.

On the other hand, the Dynamaxing feature has elevated the game and is strategically stimulating by not being overexploited. Unlike the other video game, this is not monotonous, and users praised this game for the same.
